Most PC's today have NVIDIA graphics card
ATI is not so popular due to its bad OpenGL
So I'd go with NVIDIA

My last two motherboards that have NVIDIA 780 and 790 chipsets have been nothing but trouble. I needed them because I got NVIDIA cards. I will never buy a motherboard with an NVIDIA chipset again. If that means ATI, fine. My ATI cards have always worked well.
As far as the cards are concerned, independent of the chipsets, these companies are always leapfrogging each other. You probably won't be disappointed with either one. Read the reviews.
