Cleaning Converse Shoes?

I am a clean freak now when it comes to getting new shoes and wanting to not get them dirty when I start wearing them, but later on I say what the heck, and I'm a lazy bumm to even clean it after they look all filthy and dirty. Now, I want it different, since school is coming up in about a week I need some cleaning tips. I am planning to get the Instant sneaker cleaner from Foot locker some time around next month. I don't know if I can clean it with converses, I'm afraid it might damage the shoe. Should I use it? or use the old technique by getting an un used toothbrush and some soap?

    STOP!!!

Put down the shoe cleaner and walk away!!! No need to spend the extra money when you have all your proper cleaning materials at home. Converse are made mostly of fabric. To clean them, all you really need is a little clothes washing detergent with color safe bleach...and a toothbrush of course. Use soft circular motions on the fabric and scrub vigorously on the rubber part (depending on the amt of dirt.) After scrubbing, let it set 4 about 5-10 minutes, then throw them in the washer on a gentle cycle. After that, let them air dry for 2-3 days and they are good to go. Hope this helps...

I clean the white rubber parts with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get all the scuffs and dirt off, then put them in the washing machine on gentle and hang them outside on the line to dry. They are just canvas, it won't hurt them like it does leather shoes. Make sure you use cold water though, because it can melt the rubber if you use hot. You can also take the shoelaces out and bleach them if they look dingy.

I put my shoe laces in the washer. I use the little SOS things to clean the rubber parts of the shoe! Just wet the SOS mini sponge and scrum the rubber part of the shoe and then wash it off with water and then rub it with a paper towel

my tip is that you use water and soap with a napkin that isn't weak.Scrub really hard until the stain is out.If the stain is harder to get out use bleach(only on the white part of your snaker). If the bleach touches the colored side of your sneaker the sneaker will change colors.

attempt hydrogen peroxide. It eliminates a great kind of issues. I used it to bathe a number of my shoes, yet no longer white ones. this is somewhat helpful to objective it on an no longer certainly seen area to make beneficial it would not get rid of the white.
