How can you teach a child the importance of obedience to those in authority?
Sorry, you misunderstand me. I mean WHY should i child be obedient. How can I tell a child WHY he should be obedient, not the how's. Thanks.

The best way is by example. watch what you say at all times. We used to have a saying that if you don't have anything good to say don't say it. One women took it this serious. Someone challenged her and said there was nothing good about the Devil. She replied "At least he is a hard worker." Put his habit into your everyday life no matter whether your kids are around or not.
Make sure what they watch on TV is not disrespectful. Children will imitate anything.There is very little to watch on TV these days. Instead give them simple tools to play with, a piece of wood or cardboard box. they will enjoy and use their imagination more than you know.
Again lead by example. Do the speed limit, talk well of others, and keep and eye on what is playing on the TV for you or the children.
