I'm in 9th grade, taking Algebra 2/Trig (H), do I have to take trigonometry by itself?

I am a bit confused. See, I took Algebra 1 in 7th grade, Geometry in 8th grade, and this year, in 9th grade, I'll be taking Honors Algebra 2/Trig. Do I have to take trigonometry by itself? What other courses come after this? Should I take them? The reason why I'm asking this is because orientation isn't until a week from now and I just want an understanding.

I know things vary from state to state and even city to city, so for reference I live in Newport News, Virginia.

I used Google and nothing helpful or relevant to my question came up.

Here is how it works for 80% of people:

    1. Algebra I

    2. Geometry

    3. Algebra II

    4. Pre-calculus [some schools replace this with trigonometry, but they cover the same material]

    5. Calculus

You will cover a very minor amount of trig in Algebra II, while pre-calculus is mostly work with trigonometry. Some schools call pre-calculus "trigonometry" simply because that is what most of the course covers. Call your counselor if you are still unsure.
