I need help with a Homework question I don't understand?
If you can please try and explain what the question is asking then I think I could handle it from there.
What is the social/political/philosophical agenda of the author. Explain?
I kind of understand with those to answers below but can't but my finger on what the social/ political/ philosophical agenda of the author is for Autobiography of Malcolm X as told by Alex Hailey is?

The question is asking you to extract from the author's writing what he actually thinks in real life. For example, George Orwell wrote 1984-- One might conclude he fears a Totalitarian Government based on the dark, foreboding treatment of the living conditions in the world he imagined, and that his book was designed to pass on that fear to others in order to further his political agenda.
Hope that helps.
**IF it's an autobiography the question is asking what Malcolm X's political agenda is-- If it was told to Alex Haley (who also wrote Roots), you might also want to delve into Alex Haley's agenda.

What social/political/philosophical theories or actions is the author trying to make you realize or act on? What is he/she trying to prove about social/political/philosophical issues?
