1979 el camino headers installation?
can i install my headers on the engine before put in the car without having problems? i may use shorties but if i use headers that are a little longer will i have problems.one more question what is that part thats on the front,right side of the intake manifold that is connected to the a/c? it looks like some kind of vacuum but it has a hose.

You can put your engine in the car with headers only if you remove the crossmember first. The part in question on the passanger side of the engine is a emission controll pump for the cat. converter that is either on your exhaust pipes or was at one time.

It IS a vacuum line,when you accelerate it shuts off the a/c, should be no problem, just get the right ones(hooker, heddman,ect} and get the car way up in the air,so it's easy to maneuver them
