Guinea Pig left on neighbors porch today...?

We just moved into some apartments...we have been here less than a week. We have talked to the people next door and know their names and that's pretty much it. Someone left a Guinea Pig at their front door earlier today, of course its in a small cage, it's been there all day and now it is a little after 10:00PM and getting coldish (65F). I don't want the little thing to freeze to death during the night but don't want to be accused of stealing someones animal at the same time. Any suggestions would be nice. i've thought of taking the little thing in and leaving a note on their door but not sure how that would go over...

Yes, leave a note. tell them the number of the apartment you brought it to. Is it skinny?? Malnourished looking, though? If not, leave it. Does it have food?? If so, leave it. Some people actually leave guinea pigs outside. It's not a bad thing, or unhealthy to them. It's actually their choice and it's okay with the guinea pig. If you take it in, no dairy produncts they are lactose intolerant. I'd say just feed it a baby carrot, brocolli, a piece of bell pepper, and parsley. Those are some good things for them that you prpbably have easy access to.

First knock on their door and see if any one is home. They may not realize that a guinea pig was left at their door. If no one is home, it's perfectly acceptable to take the poor little piggy indoors. Leave a note on their door that says who you are and that you thought the pig might be cold. You can either leave your apt number or phone number or both.

If they get upset with you that's their bad, because the police and animal control will be on your side. Now hurry up before he catches cold!! :)

Its quite long for a guinea pig to be outside so long. Have you seen anyone putting it outside for just a while sine you've moved there? Its a good idea just to take it back where you live and ask or put posters around. If they havnt left it on purpose they would immediately call you or if they did i dont think that u will find its owner. Later on if you come up with nothing, its ur choice to keep it or take it to some pet stores or pounds.

    Good luck ^^

    Take the guinea pig!

That is animal abuse if they leave the piggie out there! And if they get mad at you then tell them you'll let the cops know what they did. Or maybe knock on their door and ask why the guinea pig is there. Just get it out if it is getting cold. You could wake up extra early and return the guinea pig just where it was so they wouldn't suspect you.

Pull the Guinea Pig indoors and leave a small note explaining. It would be a good idea to leave your phone number on this note so they can call you.

Make a sign saying "found hamster" and put it around your neighborhood and/or make a listing on Craigslist for a found hamster. In the meanwhile, place the guinea pig in an aquarium or solid box with newspaper on the bottom.

My guinea pig has had the right undertaking as yours did. She replaced into merely a infant merely a nil.5 a 300 and sixty 5 days. I went to her cage and he or she is the biggest screamer all day and evening. yet once I walked in she replaced into silent. I appeared at her because of fact i replaced into giving her peppers and he or she replaced into dragging one foot. on the commencing up I nonetheless OH NO her little back paw could desire to have have been given stung via a wasp or some thing. once I checked no sizable bump replaced into formed or something. I notified my mom and he or she stated she merely desires sleep we are able to examine on her interior the morning. properly I knew some thing replaced into incorrect as she did no longer squeel or devour any meals. I took her out wrapped her in a heat blanket and then watched her slowly progression into death. i replaced into up the completed evening attempting to maintain her. and then she all started having strokes. the perfect degree replaced into while her head grew to become limp and that i knew as we fought mutually it replaced into the top. Which scared me. She permit loose one very final sigh as she fought and on no account complained, appeared at me, and gave up the ghost. i'm nonetheless tearing up precise now and this occurred 2 months in the past. while she gave up the ghost white stuff oozed from her eyes. and then i knew what occurred. She had a stroke that first effected her leg and then unfold throughout the time of her finished physique as much as her head. I on no account knew a guinea pig so very youthful ought to take place to this. I observed your remark and had to share my tale. My guinea pig had the same ingredient yours did yet i on no account took mine to a vet to get an antibiotic yet it occurred on it is own. So in my adventure the antibiotic might have subsided the guinea pig then instead of in soreness as all it ought to do as she slowly diminished into heaven.

i think you should knock on the door and see if anyone's home, and if nobody is there, i think you should bring it to your home for that day and try again the next day. that won't really be stealing would it? its for a good cause :D
