Buy or sell: Kanye West is a better producer than J Dilla?

My friend said that, I wanted to disagree but I just couldn't. I like both but I like Dilla more, a lot more. How do you feel about what he said? I also don't think he's listened [or knows he listened to] his stuff.

RHH2: Any songs where the....rapper[...hiphopper?!] isn't really on beat with the music? i don't know how to say it.

semiRHH: what do you say when someone says [and I quote] "lil wayne is kinda trash...and any of the songs he ever was in that were good have other great 'artists' in them...then again most rap really isnt music," its the last like that erked me. How do you tell someone they are wrong? Or can you not and just let them continue thinking that?

[sorry if this sounded lame, i'm new to the lingo and slang and awkward-and i wanted to ask a question!]

I obviously Buy. When it comes to straight samples, Drums, Soul, passion, etc, almost no one even comes close to Dilla (then again Kanye's de-emphasization of drums is pretty much his signature style)

Ironically, however, Dilla's group Slum Village achieved their most success thanks to a Kanye beat, helping to make the comparison more interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTFEIG12UJw

Kanye is a GREAT producer, but technically speaking, Kanye is years behind Dilla in terms of talent, skill, achievements, accolades, respect, and just flat out number of dope beats

RHH2: Not one that comes to mind at least

semiRHH: Just leave them alone. They already have their minds set, so there's no point in arguing with them if it's not gonna make a different. Such ignorance is sad, really.

J Dilla is the strongest Midwest Hip Hop producer and i think most here agree with me

Kanye is really good, but J Dilla is another level, a top 5 prods ever probably (with Pete Rock, El P, Madlib and PremierI MO!)

he didnt even listen to him probably

J-Dilla is a WAY better Producer then West. Comes no were close to Dilla at all .Dilla Beats came from mostly Jazz/Classic Music. I've Never herd a West Beat like any of dilla's at all and none of them are any better then

    J-Dilla's-Beats -Love Is,Dreamy,Think Twice

how can West Even be compared to the Best Man To touch a drum Machine

Sell- He might not appreciate all the production Dilla did for other artists.

I just figure that one day people will find out they were wrong and let them be ignorant but weezy is pretty ordinary.

i replaced into in basic terms questioning of this. i be attentive to a variety of of each and every physique is going to disagree with me yet I could purchase. To me Kanye West is an extremely underrated perfect 10 or maybe even perfect 5 producer. J Dilla is acceptable up there too yet i think of his beats are a splash too laid lower back.
