I have a Kenmore refrigerator and water is not getting to the ice maker or to the water dispenser in the door.?
My Kenmore Cold-spot is 10 yrs old. Water is not getting to the lines. I can hear the ice maker trying to drop ice, but there is no sound from the water dispenser when I depress the front. It's older so I don't think I have a filter, any suggestions?
I've checked the cut off switch and that works fine.
Plus, It is hooked up to my RO, so it gets good water. If it is the silonoid, where is it and can I replace it myself?

Here are a few things:
1) Check your water line for a filter, if you have one change it! It may be plugged.
2) If that didn't resolve the problem, then, there is a water level "float switch" that is hanging up or is crudded with calcium. Try cleaning it. If you are not handy call a repair tech to come check it out!

It would be easier to answer if you would specify which model refrigerator you have. Kenmore is a brand name only; its appliances are all made by other companies. Does your icemaker have a rubber tube through which the water flows down into the ice tray? If so, check that this tube is not plugged with ice. I've had mine freeze solid several times. The "right" way to fix this particular problem is to disassemble the icemaker enough to bathe the rubber tube in hot water to melt the plug. Being lazy, what I do instead is crush the plug by squeezing the tube gently with pliers. If this is your problem, your ice cube mold will be empty. If your mold is full, then water is flowing OK into it but the mechanism which ejects the cubes has failed. In this case you'll need a service call (or you can buy a new icemaker and replace it yourself if you're handy).

There is a switch on the back of the fridge where the water from the wall goes into the fridge. I had a Whirlpool (same as Kenmore) where that switch quit working and no water came out the dispenser, so I'd guess it's that part. We had it repaired, but all he did was replace a small part in the back, if that's it, it's probably not very expensive if you are handy.

Check the piercing valve where the water is tied in to the line. You might want to run the stem in and out a few times. Hard water can cause that little orifice to get clogged up.
If that's not it check the solenoid.
