Yes, Firefox is quite a bit better than IE. Plus if'when you switch over, Firefox can automatically transfer your favorites and bookmarks for you.

    In every way!

    - It's faster.

    - It's more secure. First you have a major advantage: Firefox is not the most popular browser so most people don't bother making viruses for it. Even if it was the one everyone wrote viruses for, it would do better than IE because it still does a better job at keeping security when a virus does pass through.

    - It's completely non-commercial. IE is free too but it is made by Microsoft which is a commerical company. Everything Mozilla makes is free.

    - It's extensible. The extensions are the main reason I use Firefox. Extensions are available for all sorts of things; the most invaluable one is Adblock Plus which will make you never see online ads again. Seriously. I have not seen an ad in ages.

    - For the more computer savvy:

    - You can use extensions to the full extent and write your own easily.

    - There are many good tools for website developers in Firefox, in the starting software and extensions like Firebug.

The only reason IE holds on to its market share is because it comes preinstalled on Windows and most people don't care enough to install anything else.

In most cases, yes. Firefox is Fast easy to use, and is revolutionizing modern Internet viewing. Internet Explorer 8 is no different that internet explorer 7, except that it now supports multiple tabs, which Firefox already supported.

take a look at the picture on the bottom left. It tells you that it's much safer than IE v8 and of course it is much faster. since Firefox v3.5 is the fastest Firefox ever made so far

Source(s): my own experience with Firefox for over 4 years.

    In my opinion, yes.

FireFox has always had better security and performance over IE8.

Why not just install yourself and give it a try? If you don't like it. It's easy to uninstall.
