Can someone in medical field, please help me? MENSTRUAL CYCLE QUESTION?
I'm a 23-year-old female.
Okay, so I've always had very normal periods: usually lasting no more than 5 days and not very heavy; recently, however, I've had horrible periods with lots of pain. By pain, I mean leg cramps, abdominal pain, and very heavy periods (sometimes with small and a couple of large blood clots, the size of quarters). I've had an ultrasound, urine/blood tests, and they have concluded everything to be normal. I don't have a UTI, I'm not pregnant (not to mention, I'm not/never been sexually active), or anemic. All the doctors have tried w/ me so far is making me take medication for a UTI (which I don't think that I ever had) and about 3 days ago, they have told me to take 2-3 iron pills per day (which I have been doing)
What the hell is wrong with me? I am very worried. I have an OB-GYN appointment in 2 days, but I was wondering if I could get more information about what this could be?
My periods now have been lasting 3 weeks for 5 months and this last month...it has not stopped. :*(

I would seriously get on some birth control. If you are on it then switch to a higher dose. This should resolve most if not ALL of your symptoms. Really, give it a try for at least 3 months, you'll think, omg, why didn't I do this sooner? Good luck

I'd like to know more about your current environment and stress levels, anything in your life (apart from being 23) that might have an impact on your mind and general well being. So many factors come to mind as to the cause. From products you use or are exposed to indirectly. Your entire diet and nutrition looking at the now unavoidable irradiated and gm foods from supermarkets. The list goes on. I'd like to suggest you consult a naturopath in conjunction with your gyno's wisdom. (for the record I am not a naturopath). Did your mother or aunts have such issuess?
