Aion release date question?

Question

I just preordered the collector's edition and I'm in the middle of a download. Will it let me play it once I install it? I thought the game isnt released til end of September? Is it just beta testing right now? If it is true about a release date being at the end of the month, what happens to our characters? I am just confused as to why its letting me download when I heard the release date isnt til much later in the month. I am wondering if I should just wait til release or if I should start leveling my character now. Thanks.

The open beta is from September 6th till September 13th.

The game will go live in NA on September 22nd and it will go live in Europe on September 25th

You won't be able to play the game once it's finished install unfortunately. The game is due to be released around the 23rd of this month (dates may vary depending on where you are from.) Headstart will begin two days prior to the official release and I believe preselect starts a few days before that (this is where you get to create your character, pick it's name etc but you still can not play.)

Open beta however starts on the 6th and will last up until the 13th, characters you make during open beta will not be transferred for you to play when the game is officially out, it's just something to show people how they game is basically. Sort of a sneak peak/teaser. 

I'd suggest if you play open beta make another character you were interested in playing. Just so you don't get bored repeating yourself when the time comes to play your actually character.

im downloading it now aswell. closed beta starts from 6-13th September so you have to wait few more days for beta
and game starts from 23rd ..see you there
