How long until my hair fades?

There's not much you can do unless you never want to shower, but try a shampoo/conditioner system that's color-sensitive and wont fade your hair.

Herbal Essences has a few for colored hair, so does Pantene and Dove. Go to Target or Wal-Mart and look around.

Some tips:

Try not to scrub your hair too much in the shower. Though the shampoo may be color sensitive, you can still get your hair clean without ruining the color.

When your hair eventually fades, just dye it again.

Red hair needs a lot of maintenance and it fades in about three weeks depending on how healthy it is. Buy some hair products made specifically for red hair, like Radiant Red by John Frieda. It works wonders on helping the color stay longer, and it has little deposits of color that help make it bolder and brighter.

I have red hair.

And what I do is I wash my hair with cold water, and I use a shampoo that has a bit of red dye in it. Also, try to wash your hair every 3 days instead of 2 or 1.

It works for me and it lasts about a month and a half :)

it will fade in around 1-2 months. but to keep the color longer you should get shampoo and conditioner that is for red heads. and continue to redye it about every 4 weeks

Find shampoo that will save the color, this really helps, and depends.. if you got it done in a salon ATLEAST 3 1/2 months. If you used something else, it depends, but im guessing 2 months unless you use the shampoo and the sun doesnt lighten it. Good luck, Best wishes.

also it depends what kind of hair dye you bought,

Some is semi permanent and some is just permanent.

dont wash it more than once a day. it would be easier maybe every other day and use color protecting shampoo and hair products. ecspeicially when u go swimming find some color gaurd chlorine products

they say to use special things to wash with but it does not help. it is only going to stay maybe one week at the most and then you will have to redye it. its sad but true. i have tried everything under the sun and it fades. but when you arein the 30's it goes and your hair turns to grey or white.

well eachtime you wash it, it'll fade a little.

buy shampoos, that are meant for color to not fade.
