Trouble connecting new water supply hose for a toilet to the water supply from the wall?

The previous water supply hose does not fit the new insides of the toilet. I made the mistake of removing the compression fitting on the water supply hose coming from the house. Now I am unable to keep the new nut attached to the hose although I did try to attach a new compression fitting. I have no water in the house and desperately need help to fix this problem tonight.

Most new toilets have the same fitting so just take your old line off the incoming pipe for the stool. Take it to the home center - ask them for a flexible stool supply line that will screw onto your existing supply valve or pipe and the other end onto your toilet.

Does the supply tube that came with the toilet fit the water supply correctly? or is it an issue with the white plastic nut that attaches the supply tube to the tank? Sorry I can't help more I'm not getting a super clear picture of the problem.

Did you remove the valve? if so, you can purchase a new stop valve at walmart then your compression nut and ferrule should fit into the stop valve correctly so that you can attach the supply tube. I'm guessing that's why you had to turn the water in the whole house off. Am I wrong.
