Laptop randomly loses power and swiches to battery ?
I got a year old hp laptop, I mostly have it plug in, it has this annoying habit of randomly switching to battery, this thing has been going on for some time, but it has been going worse lately - in the beginning it seemed that turning the plug in slot where it connects with laptop helps, but then it suddenly didn't help, so I figured that charging wire probably is broken somewhere and tried to locate damage in wire and it seemed that the damage is around transformer, but next time neither trick helped, so I'm unsure the problem is in broken wire - it seems to connect back completely randomly, even when I'm not touching wire and am not moving (so I can't be accidentally connecting it back). Sure the easiest way to check would be to buy new charger, but I went to PC shop an found out that new charger is rather expensive, I don't want to shell my money for thing that won't solve anything. So I wonder if anything else can cause this ?

Yeah, the socket where the cord plugs into the laptop itself can become loose and break away from the motherboard, it is a common enough problem for laptops.
If the plug has room to wiggle around when it is plugged into the computer this could be the cause. Replacement sockets are typically found on ebay (and cheap, 2-5 bucks), but take a person handy with a soldering iron to install it.

You just solved your own question.. This is what you stated: "my laptop is constantly plugged in. i rarely move it." - What does this mean? Well, it means you are leaving the charger connected to the battery. The laptop uses power from the battery, its a unstated amount of percentage per use because it depends on the demands of the software you are using but we'll use 1% as an example to make things easy. 1% every 10 minutes for example. So what happens is, 10 minutes pass, 1 percent is drained. Then your charger kicks in and goes, "Oh, we need to charge that 1%!" and starts to charge. Recharging it to 100. Then, another 10 minutes pass and another 1% goes away and the process repeats over and over. Its like washing your car ever day after it gets a tiny bit dirty. The paint is going to slowly chip off. Sure it may not be instantly but slowly but surely the color will fade, change, and eventually vanish. Stop charging your laptop while the battery is in. If you aren't going to be moving the laptop around, remove the battery and run it off the charger . Only use both if you want to recharge the battery but try not to have the laptop on. Use the battery only if you are moving around. Best of luck.

This happened with my old laptop, you need a new battery plug to plug it in because your one you have now most likely haves a shortage

Your charging port may be loose or about to break inside.. This happens when the cord is tugged on..
