    I love them all.

My favorite boy names are older such as Theo, Charles, and Leon.

I wish people would revert back to the old times and name their kids these names, because they are classic for a reason.

I love all of the names you have listed except for Samuel, but that's because I've never liked that name. Something about it drives me crazy.

I am also not fond of Edward.

However, Henry, Charles, William [my name :)], John, Russel, and Felix are all great names.

Also to that list I like Alexander, Peter, George, and Dexter.

    1. Henry.

I love Henry. It's also a family name, both my father and grandfather have a Dutch variation of the name Henry. I'm considering using it if I ever have a son, either as a first or middle name. I think it's cute for when he's little but also grows well with the child. Only downside is that it doesn't lend itself well to nicknames.

    2. Charles.

I dislike Charles although love the nickname Charlie. I'd be more likely to call my son Charlie straight out, because I think it sounds cuter, less outdated and still seems to age well.

    3. Edward.

I do love this name. However, I probably wouldn't use it as a first name. I'm more likely to use it as a middle name. Also, given the Twilight obsession with Edward, I would not use it any time in the near future.

    4. William.

Another family name for me :) I like William and will definitely consider using it as a middle name because it's present on both my mother and father's sides of the family. I also think it's cute for a first name because I love the shortened version - Will.

    5. John.

I dislike John because I feel that it's slightly boring. I'm just not a fan. Would not consider using this name.

    6. Russel.

I dislike this name very strongly. It makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason - the name gives sleazy connotations in my mind. I would not use this name.

    7. Felix.

I do like this name. I think it's cute and would age well. However, I would not use this name however due to the Felix the Cat cartoons.

    8. Samuel.

I like this name :). I think this is really cute. It's another name that ages well. Sam is a nice nickname. I'd be most likely to use this as a middle name.

    Other favourite old-timey names include:

Benjamin, Alexander, Nathaniel, Sebastian and Maximillian.

    1. Henry- EW! I always think of an overweight child, or a REALLY old man. Sorry, not a good name to me.

    2. Charles- Charlie is so cute(: ...not Charles.

    3. Edward- Not a fan. It's OK.

    4. William- Works good as a middle. Like Caleb William.

    5. John- AH! It's not exactly "old-timey" if people have been naming their kids that for thousands of years and it's STILL GOING. I think this name is overused and should be retired like Albert.

    6. Russel- Nice for a middle name. Outdated and too professional for a child. Jackson or Alexander Russel are nice.

    7. Felix- I like it(: It's different and doesn't sound old.

    8. Samuel- Again, would make a nice middle. Maybe Noah or Austin Samuel. However, it would make a nice first name.

Charles is one of my all-time favourite boy names, possibly due to the fact that the most beautiful man I have ever met is named Charles (and is called Charles; not Chuck or Charlie or anything).

I also like William (only if he's called Will), Samuel, Edward (but can only be called Edward; Ed & Eddie make me gag), & John (though in general I prefer Jonathan).

I am perpetually on the fence about Henry. Some days I love it, some days I dislike it.

I like Felix, but only for a character's name. I would never name a child Felix.

Russell is okay, but isn't my thing.

1.) Henry : I love this name! It's currently in my Favorites List, and will stay there. It's one of those names that sounds intelligent AND masculine - something I've found in a lot of boy names to be "either or." Not that names are either "bone-headed jock" or "nerdy" names LOL

2.) Charles and 3.) Edward : Both one of those of those "nerdy" names, for lack of a better word. I imagine boys very introverted and intelligent with these names. Perhaps if they were nicknamed Charley/Chuck or Eddie I would think differently. But the names in it of themselves, very studious.

4.) William : I can't even imagine this name used with out a nickname. I really like Will, but not Bill or Billy very much. Overall, I picture someone pretty clever, but the latter nicknames more on the michevious (sp???) side.

5.) John : I love this name, though would not personally use it; John is a family name for me. It's short and sweet, but still holds an air of masculinity. I don't see the ever being a "bad name," except if one were very inclined *against* common names.

6.) Russel : I have always envisioned a grey cat when I think of this. It's odd, since I only say a cat named that once on a commercial about ten years ago! I suppose I have always wanted a grey cat names Russel since then? LOL! When I meet boys named Russel, I then associate cats with them.

7.) Felix : I know several boys with this name, and pretty much all of them were very bad-behaved. While I don't think of someone who is a bad person - definitely - I think of someone who is "up to no good" in a sense.

8.) Samuel : Another "intelligent" name like Edward or Charles. It's nickname Sam is so common, I don't know really what to think about it.

I love old timey names =)

    1. Henry

    I love it!!!

    2. Charles

It's okay... I have a dog named Charlie.

    3. Edward

Too common since Twilight was came out... I love Twilight, but I wouldn't name my child Edward.

    4. William

I hate the name William. I'm not really sure why, but I really hate it.

    5. John

    I like the name.

I will probably give my son the middle name John after my daddy.

    6. Russel

I don't like it.. I have never liked the name.

    7. Felix

    Reminds me of the cat..

    8. Samuel

I love the name! I would name my future child Samuel if my best friend hadn't already called it!

    =)

  • Henry - This name is really growing on me. I think it's perfect for a little boy but it will still age well.

Charles - I like it. It ages well, and I love the nickname Charlie.

Edward - I like it a lot actually, not because I'm a twilight fan (I am though. hehe), but because it's a classic.

William - Eh, I know a boy named William and he is so weird. He kinda ruined that name for me. I like Liam though.

John - I actually like this name. It's a classic but it's modern at the same time.

Russel - I don't find this name appealing at all.

Felix - My friend has a cat named Felix, so I can't really see it as a name for a boy. lol. It's kinda cute though, unique but not too out-there.

Samuel - I've never liked this name much. I don't really know why, it's not like there's anything wrong with it, just not appealing to me.

    {♥}

  • I love Charles, Edward, William, John and Samuel. They are great masculine boys names.

Henry and Russell aren't bad names.

    I don't like Felix.

I LOVE Felix. Henry and Samuel are also cute. I'm not overly keen on Charles, but I love the nickname Charlie - it's super cute. The other names I'm not keen on. Most of them sound very grown up, and I can't picture them on a little boy. I'm not keen on any of the nicknames either. William and Russel would be okay on a boy, but they're just names I personally don't like. :]

    1. Henry! I love it just dislike the dreaded nickname Hank most Henrys are doomed with, it's my favorite and reminds me of favorite Tudor, King Henry the 8th. I not a fan of the show The Tudors, I’m actually a history buff.

If I ever had any future children and it was a boy I was going to name him Henry but found out that most Henrys get called Hank, I ruled it out as a first and am going with it as middle.

    2. Charles, I don't like the nickname Charlie that he will end up with, allot of nicknames screw everything up. I mean I really like the name Elizabeth it’s beautiful, but all the horrible nicknames for it ruined it as a first for me I.e. Liz, Lizzy, Eliza, Beth, Betty :/

    3. Edward, there are two “Edwards” in my family, my grandfather who they just call Ed and my Uncle who they call Eddie. I have a cousin whose name use to be Christopher and he actually changed his name to Eddie to fit in with the rest of the family.

I don’t care for it, and btw it’s my mother’s middle name, well almost Edwina.

    4. William, I love William! I picture a tall dark handsome man with the name William and the nickname Will isn’t as bad as Hank or Eddie.

    5. John is my dad’s name and he is a dick, end of story, I dislike the name it’s very boring and straight to the point.

    6. Russell, I think the name would suit a dog, not because I think of the breed Jack Russell, Russell Terriers, but because it sounds like a dog’s name.

    7. Felix, once again dog.

    8. Samuel, I hate the nickname Sammy and Sam, besides the only Samuel I know everyone calls him Spamuel.

I think the name Sammy and Sam is girly, Sam was my mothers dancer name when she was in her early 20's.

    She was a stripper, lol.

I'd say my favorite "old-timey" name that you don't have is Theodore, even though I don't like Ted or Theo, Teddy Bear is adorable, lol.

I also love Lincoln, and adore the nickname Linc.
