If cap & trade is really a jobs bill like Obama claims why isnt he promoting that right now?

Cap and Trade will eliminate every business that isn't Wal*Mart, Starbucks, The Home Depot and anyone else willing to pay over half of their profit in new taxes.

It is because it is not the bill, but merely how it is packaged that will principally determine it's effect.

For instance, if President Obama wanted to create jobs in a town where weapons is the principal business, like Littleton, Colorado for instance, he could say "We want our soldiers to be better equipped when fighting terrorists abroad." which would gain a lot more support than "We want to give these people a job because they don't have many prospects in life, and the only industry around that area seemed to be making guns/nuclear arms so..."

I hope this illustrates the point.

It will cause a net job loss and raise prices on electricity and anything shipped by rail or truck. Obama will be kicking us while we're already down if he starts pushing that again. I'm sure they will start working on it when congress gets back from break.

because the EPA stated they may come out and declare CO2 a "dangerous pollutant" which REQUIRES the govt to regulate it. If the EPA does that they don't need to "pass" cap & trade anymore, no vote required, as they will be obligated by law to set up regulations.

People know the cap and trade will not create jobs and it will only create more taxes. Cap and trade will kill jobs.

Obama said it would cause energy prices to skyrocket.

I think even the dumbest of Dems realizes this is not the time for that.

because he is disciplined and organized

1. decide who can live - abortion legislation

2. decide who can die - healthcare reform

3. decide who can keep their lights on - cap & trade

Because health care is more important at this time.

Right now health care reform is more important.
