Why do people love such terrible voices?

Personally I totally agree with you, but it is all about diffrence of opinions.

Everyone has different taste and opinion. You might find that they have horrible voices, but bare in mind that they are famous for a reason! and also, you might think they suck but many others would disagree with you and think they have a great voice.

Michael Jackson wouldn't have been the legend he is today if he couldn't song and didn't have a good voice. Rihanna wouldn't have hit popularity as fast as she did if she didn't have a talent in singing. Most of the singers you mentioned have won big awards for their music so asking a question like this is quite wrong thought.

You do not know what you are talking about...Michael Jackson had one of the greatest voices in this world and I know that Justin and Rihanna have the ability to hold a note as well.....The others are simply performers and sometimes that is all that you need to be a super-star...Just the ability to be a great performer>:)

You forgot Gilbert Gottfried!! I don't know about most of the other people on your list though. I think people like weird voices because they stand out - even if it is because they grate your nerves. Personally, I don't think much of voices but I love a weird / unique laugh. I had a friend that laughed like Fran Dresser does. I also had a friend that laughed like a chicken being strangled... which always made me laugh.

Not a big fan of the group you listed, but NOT because they have terrible voices. It's because they have terrible music.

Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, Bruce Springstein have so-so voices but create good music. I can deal with a bad voice with great music but not with bad music coupled with a great voice.

None of the ones you mentioned could sing their way out of a paper bag, but that's never been any barrier to pop success. It's about the songs in pop.
