Catholics, if Peter's bones are under the Vatican, what are farm animal bones doing down there?
I will assume you've heard of this, but never really thought about it. There are 19 clear plastic boxes under the Vatican, and some of them hold what you all believe to be Peter.
Weird thing is, ten of the other boxes hold the remains of goats, sheep, cows, swine, and a chicken. One holds the remains of a chicken, and the other 8 hold the bones, they say, of Peter. And there were more than one human remains bones in there, there were actually, read the article here.

So, since there are animal bones and three human bones under the Vatican, not one, how in the world can you believe the pope when he says one of them, the older of the bones, is Peter???
David is correct, The Vatican has Peter's head, and St John Lateran church has Peter's head.
How if the Vatican was supposed to be built on Peter????
well, it matters to Catholics because if the Vatican is not built on Peter, well, that whole Religion is a fraud, since an unfallible Pope declared the bones to be Peter.
It doesnt matter to me, but it's the cornerstone of the Catholic Faith.

The catholics just want to dig up these bones & worship them, just like they worship statues!
Don't think that they don't worship statues?
What do you think would be catholics reactions if the pope said that there couldn't be anymore statues/paintings in any church & every other catholic site, as well as in catholic homes, or anywhere else?
There would be a major uprising in the catholic church-that's what!

Sacrifices, maybe? The Church didn't occur overnight, and I daresay that some Temple practices continued for a while.
Always look at antiquities in the context of their culture :-)

Why does it matter to you where the bones of St. Peter are buried?
