my computer cant read CD/DVD rom, what do i do to correct this ?

Make sure you do not have a corrupt cd/dvd.
The problem could be your cd/dvd rom drive itself. Check your device manager by going to
start>right click "My computer" > properties > device manager
FOR XP : after properties go to > "hardware" tab > device manager.
see if there is an error symbol somewhere. Check "cd/dvd rom drive"
is there an error? or not detecting it? Try reconnecting your drive inside your computer(turn off computer first)
The best reason could be your drive have gotton faulty and now you need to get a new one.

some cd/dvds require a higher reading speed than internal (built in) disk drives provide , most computers have a 8x reading speed try buying a external cd drive form 16-24x speed , also it could be your drivers try going to your service providers website (the people that made your pc or mac or whatever) and click driver downloads and click CD/DVD driver download, this may correct the problem
