How do we get Americans to realize the "Public Option" is better?

Public Health Care insurance works well EVERYWHERE else. It is opposed mainly by those currently making obscene profits providing poor and restricted coverage. The Public Option offers a wider choice of doctors, hospitals, shorter waiting times and constitutionally guaranteed equality of access. Yet people believe the insurance industry lies. Why?

I think that the best way to convince them is for them to see it in action. many of the people who were originally opposed to the idea of medicare are the same people who would fight like hell if you tried to take it away from them now. Once people see it in action they will wonder what all the fuss was about and they will embrace the improvements over the current system.

Democrats should buckle down and ram it through by any means necessary. They will catch heat for it at first but people will come around once they find themselves paying less money for better coverage.

if they don't pass the bill or if they pass a sub standard bill without a public option, the country will be worse off for it.

    to answer your question:

the best way to get Americans to realize that the public option is Better is to show them and the only way to show them is for the senate and the house to pass the bill in congress.

Democrats can't afford to be spineless on this one. they have to fight as hard as if not harder than the insurance company profiteers to get this done.

    Most DO understand.

You might get lot of silly conservative ideologues on Yahoo, or whining liberals making excuses for Obama's cowardice on single payer, but most people understand.

I live in the deep South, in a "redneck" area, but most people here want health insurance.

I heard a fella just a couple of days ago, who I had always thought of as right-wing, say "Well, why not just put EVERYONE on Medicare or veterans' medical?"

As a socialist, and thus an opponent of both the current administration AND its' "conservative" critics, I could have kissed him.

mind-blowing question! the fast answer is, honestly. yet i'm oftentimes incapable of short solutions. how a lot of human beings residing in abject poverty are advised some version of "pull up your bootstraps" by using fact the guy is basically to blame for their fulfillment? the project with North united statesa. is that it places too lots emphasis on the flexibility of the guy to triumph over--to triumph over prejudice, discrimination, financial intolerance. there's no money in welfare; there's no money in prevention; there's no money for the homeless. and there is no desire to assist others as a results of extreme individualism. Why care if that is not you? i admire "evangelize tantalizing pictures" by using fact it incredibly is strictly what that's. there are maximum of thoughts approximately accomplishing the yankee Dream...yet in basic terms as many approximately dropping that dream. Even in those, the guy is ultimately to blame for in spite of destiny the author determines. The emphasis on the accessibility of the yankee Dream is stated--although that is mandatory. without it, how can governments, the media and different company entities convince us to purchase into the whole fantasy? all and sundry retains telling us that is interior of our carry close, and it in basic terms could ensue, so we keep getting in the desire that it's going to.

I am opposed to it and I don't get any profits from it. There is very little that the government gets involved in that does not get bogged down in red tape and more expenses because of their involvement in it. They always have five more layers of paperwork just to prove to the government that they are in compliance with the law. I fail to see how a government insurance company is going to lower health care cost. That is like thinking that I will reduce the cost of aftermarket car parts by opening a new car manufacturing company.

"How do we get Americans to realize the "Public Option" is better?"

We wont, 90% of TV and Radio are Corporate Conservative. Pharma and Insurance own both parties. There is not one of the 36,000 registered lobbyists in Washington representing your interests.

Thank you, Don. Now go back and tell your buddies at Media Matters, the Daily Kos, and the DNC that you fulfilled the contract you have with them and they can go ahead and send you a check for your time as their shill.

It isnt better and you better do a lot more research on other countries, their expenses, their tax rates, the services they do and do NOT provide, and a much more- if you do this you WILL find that you are not comparing apples to apples to begin with.

How is it going to be paid for?

Until you understand this, you don't understand squat.

I keep hearing finding efficiencies will pay for it and cutting medicare. Does it make any sense to cut medicare when it has unfunded commitments over $38 trillion?
