Windows Police Pro is a rogue anti-spyware program that displays false and exaggerated scan results. Thankfully, though, there is a totally free way to remove this program.

Please visit this page and follow the guide in order to fully remove this program and any related malware:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remo...

Please note that many of the answers to your question state that you should download and install Xoftspy or Spyhunter. Both of these programs only scan your computer and do not remove anything for free. They are only being shown in order for the poster to make a commission. Instead only use programs that do not require you to purchase them in order to remove found infections. The guide above includes a program that will remove this infection entirely for free.

It seems that Windows Police Pro becomes more and more "popular". To get rid of this spyware I would recommend you a reputable anti-spyware Spyware Doctor. It is very powerful security application which will quickly "heal" your PC. Please compare Spyware Doctor to other anti-spywares here:

Also, you can get rid of Windows Police Pro by removing it manually. Here are all the steps how it should be done:

Remember to be very careful when doing this, good luck!

Boot to safe mode with networking, and download malwarebytes antimalware.

    Malwarebytes antimalware

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/malwarenet.php

install it in safe mode (Malwarebytes can be installed in safe mode)

check for updates, then do a full system scan, and remove.

If your safe mode does not work, then you will need to reinstall your operating system.

Note: if you reinstall your operating system, do a disk cleanup to remove the previous system installations, just in case if this program may sneak into your new operating system since your previous operating system installations are still exist.

Take these steps to prevent your computer from getting infected again.

Keep your windows patch up to date by turning Automatic update on, and make sure that you have the latest service pack installed.

Use antivirus and antispyware software to protect your computer.

    Antivirus software

    AVG Antivirus

    http://free.avg.com/

    Avast Antivirus

    http://www.avast.com/

Microsoft Security Essentials, (windows xp sp2 or later operating systems)

    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Microsoft-S...

Note: Microsoft Security Essentials is still in beta, and this may not be the latest version, the full version is going to be released some time this month, and it is a freeware software, if you choose to use this, make sure you upgrade to the latest version.

    Antispyware software

    Superantispyware

    http://www.superantispyware.com/

    Spybot Search and Destroy

    http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html

    Ad Aware

    http://www.lavasoft.com/

    Malware removal software

    Malwarebytes Antimalware

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Note: use only one antivirus software, but consider to use more than one antispyware software, and keep them updated.

    Browser Protection software

    SpywareBlaster

    http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html

SpywareBlaster does not have a scanner, it simply adds malicious websites to the restricted zone.

In addition to that, do not click on random pop-ups, since it may be one way that malware gets into your computer.

If there are red cross on the tray area saying that your computer is infected, do not click on it, and also, while you are online, if there is a message box pop up, as you are not expecting it, and it says that your computer is infected, do not click either yes or no, or even ok or cancel. Instead, press alt-F4, or click on the close button, if a website pops up after you click on close button, then close that website immediately to avoid infections sneaking in to your computer.

Use an alternate browser, such as

    Mozilla Firefox

    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ie.html

    Opera

    http://www.opera.com/

Note: you must use Internet Explorer to download Windows Update.

    Mcafee Siteadvisor

    http://www.siteadvisor.com/

Mcafee Siteadvisor helps you to distunguish good and bad websites, by simply display a green checkmark, a yellow exclamation mark or a red x.

green checkmark means this website is safe

yellow exclamation mark means the website may not be completely safe

red x means that the website is dangerous, either the website itself is dangerous, or the website is linked to a malicious website.

    Consider use a firewall

    Pc tools firewall plus

    http://www.pctools.com/firewall/

    Sunbelt Personal Firewall

    http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/home-home-office/su...

Note, if you have windows firewall, make sure you turn windows firewall off before you install other firewalls.

Do not use two firewalls on one computer.

Use Revo Uninstaller, and see if this works.

    download it from this website

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/

If you have already reinstalled your operating system, just follow the instructions above, and you will be fine.

Note, it is best if you don't use spyware doctor, as the trial version can only scan, but not remove, until you purchase the full version, there is another edition of spyware doctor called 'spyware doctor starter edition' that can scan and remove threats, thought the onguard protections is limited, the only thing is that it may not have complete updates, which means that 50% chance, Windows Police Pro may not be detected by Spyware Doctor Starter Edition.

Had the same problem. It wouldn't let me install any anti-virus program to remove it until I tried one called Superantispyware. It was a free download and I'm back up and running fine now.

Try the free Dr Web Cureit

On another good computer connected to the internet get Dr Web Cureit and save it on a flash drive.(pen drive)

now connect your flash drive(pen drive) to the USB port.

You dont even have to install it in your C drive, just run it off the flash drive connected to the USB port.(right click the spider icon and select open)

Which operating system are you using? The key value of safeboot in your registry may be modified, try to restore the key, then do the uninstall in safe mode again. If it still doesn't work, try a third-party uninstaller. I think one called perfect uninstaller should do, my own experience.

It happened to me 2 or 3 days ago. I did go to add/remove, but you can't get there going to control panel. go to run and type in "C:/WINDOWS/system32/appwiz.cpl" Than you can remove.

    Hope that will you.
