If i broke it down a lil, would you understand what i was saying?

Everyone seems to think this is a Christian poem, because of the mention of god. But its rly not.

It should also be noted that when i use words like "us" "we" or "our" I do not mean everyone. However a lot of ppl, if not everyone, can fall into the catagory.

Rivers Run Red

We are made in his image.

That’s what they say.

From our kind hearts,

To our violent ways.

We show our love,

our passion, our hate.

We sometimes destroy

The things we create.

Whether it be machine,

A home,

Or the children we name.

Even the lives we make

In search of some fame.

All left in the dust

Of the riots that rage

In the streets we called home.

And we just look away.

We wage war on our brothers.

Our rivers run red.

As our children fight our battles.

It’s their blood that is shed.

It’s their lives that are lost

Because of mistakes in the past.

It’s their lives that are lost

Because of one name heard so vast.

In gods name we “pray.”

As we wait for the day.

As we wait for our questions

To be answered.

As we wait for our answers

Too many lives are lost.

Enough waiting,

I say,

It’s all a lost cause.

lines 1-4: It is said tha we are made in him image, everything he has, he gave us.

Lines 5-8: Just like gods we show Love, Passion, and hate. We have the power to create thing of great importance. But even so, we still manage to destroy the things we love, that we've created.

Lines 9-13: Lists simply some things that we could destroy

Lines 14-16: The after math of the destruction is seen everywhere. "in the riots that rage" doesn't exactly mean riots on our streets. But shows the destruction, even if its not of you own doing, whether it's close to home or not.

Line 17: Simply shows our ignorance.

Lines 18-21: We get caught up in battles and struggles both with our neighbors and our family. And it causes problems for our future generations. Cause its something theyll have to deal with if it hasnt ended with us.

Lines 22-25: Simply details on 18-21 saying that in their time, the struggles that had taken place in the past are what's causing their problems. And sometimes, as our past does show, Its one "name" or one man that is causing the problem. An example being Adolf Hitler. A man killing off random ppl for no reason at all. Ravaging europe. And both the ppl in europe, and here in america ignored it. "One name heard so vast" doesnt only apply to "god"

Lines 26-31: Shows that our ignorace only continues further, as we dont rly do much to help the situation, We'll be happy to pray, and hope things get better. We'll be more than happy to wait for things to get better, But never do anything our selves to help it get better. Even if helping meant doing something small.

Lines 32-34: Author is simply suggesting that "praying" and waiting isnt enough. Cause to do so is only a lost cause. And that we should try harder to fix problems in a way that will not destroy us at the same time.

i think it's good. it's better then most of this stuff. people here don't like to read long poems. they will look at it and if it's too long..they won't mess with it.

i think you deserve some readers, so try to fit your poems to their little brains. :]
