how can i lighten my hair from dark red to a coppery fire red?
I went to the hairdresser yesterday and she put a reddish copper dye in my hair (my hair has already been colored numerous times before) It came out so dark! I was trying to get a lot lighter and get a coppery fire red (carrot top basically) like my natural color. She said since my hair was processed it wouldnt lift much with the color she put on it and that we have to do it in steps. She said something about a bleach soap cap? Im not sure how this works but i guess its not as bad as regular bleach im assuming.. Does it just strip the color thats already in it? I guess she would strip it with the bleach soap cap and then add the red color dye to my hair? With the bleach soap cap it wont turn blonde or anything will it? b/c when you add red to blonde hair it fades to a pink color after i while i believe.. i was just trying to get it close to my natural color so that when my roots come in it wont look crazy... any suggestions? thank you!

A Bleach Soap Cap is just a bleach mixture that is diluted with shampoo or conditioner to make it gentler and easier to control. You shouldn't use haircolor to remove or lighten haircolor - It seldom works. If you don't want to go back to the salon, you could just buy a good bleach kit and some good conditioner and mix just half of the bleach with an equal amount of conditioner and apply to DAMP (Not Shampooed) hair. Check a strand of hair every 10 mins. by wiping strand with a paper towel to check for lightness, as soon as it is light enough, rinse, shampoo and condition.
Hope This Helps.
Good-Luck!!

i think the most gradual method would be to do it yourself
put lemon juice in your hair go out in the sun each day for like an hour or more. this will naturally lighten the dye thats in it, but it will be less ferocious on hair then a formal bleach and u can controll how light it gets

if your hair is dark now, dye your hair in a VERY LIGHT copper color. because the dye mixes with your own hair color. i hope this works!
