AP---what is wrong with them?

Just wondering your thoughts and what you feel should be done. I'm all for freedom of the press. However when you are willing to lose your dignity to get a story published it pushes the line. This in my opinion is another reason why the press needs to stay away from military operations.

first of all the Press DOES NOT report the news.
It tells you what to think and it MAKES the news. I f-king hate them!
You have no idea how much stuff they "angle" its ridiculous. Everytime there is a quiet period from the war is because we are doing great things that the press deems are not worth hearing about.
Like saving Hadji lives. Who cares? We're baby killers. As a medic a Hadji refused to let us treat his daughter from a shrapnel wound in her femoral artery. So she bled out in front of us from a preventable death. Others medics were like, oh yeah, not the first time we see daughters die because dad, uncle, cousins and brothers dont let us treat them.
Back home, liberal college profs ask - "Who are we to judge these ancient cultures? Why do we think we are better than them? We are ethno-centric? waah waah waah."
Right, but at least we treat our women like human beings, ethno-centric and all.
Like I said, so much stuff goes un-reported. There are some real stories of heroism nobody hears about in America.

I agree with the freedom of the press and the fact that civilians should be shown the realities of war so they don't become complacent, however I am absolutely disgusted that the AP did not take into account that poor Marines family and their wishes. I know if that were my husband someone would be getting an a** whooping verbally and in the press this is ridiculous and horribly unnecessary.
Edit: I looked for the photo....to see what is was like since I don't like to pass judgment without all the facts and let me tell you that photo is horrible and made me cry and in no circumstance should ANY family have to see their child, brother, sister or whatever in that way splashed all over the news....even if it were a simple car wreck a family shouldn't have to see that.....what the AP did was reprehensible and uncalled for and I am appalled and disgusted and if I could personally scream at the editors that allowed this I would!
For the record I refuse to give the link for the photo since I refuse to support passing along that photo and giving credence to the AP

Reprehensible behavior. This is obviously done for political reasons.
All AP reporters should have their credentials and access passes to the military suspended for 1 month.
The AP reporter and his editor(s) need to be barred for life.
Absolutely appalling behavior.

It's just plain selfish.
AP wanted media exposure. Well they got it, and I hope it keeps them up at night. It will if they have any conscience left.
