Fish tank question.....?
Huh, so they could have come in with the feeders, even though we rinse the feeders before putting them in the tank? I would have thought we might have seen them in the feeder bag.
Our 75 gallon has been set up for almost a year now. Same fish, nothing new. Fake plants. Where did the snails come from?????? They just started appearing over the last month or so. We haven't added anything to the tank.

You've probably had them all along, you might have had one or two (or eggs) in the beginning that came with a fish, and over time they multiplied and voila you now have a million snails.
Also they normally come out at night and hide in the rocks during the day, that's how it took so long for you to see them.
Also if you feed live or refrigerated foods it could have been in there, OR if you feed veggies and don't blanch them first. But most likely it's what I said above.
Source(s): I own a fish tank. :D *side note* you know what is a fun way to get rid of them? If you have room get some loaches, they suck them right out of their shells! - 1 decade ago
thats very strange but you probably had either snail eggs or very very small baby snails in there when you set up that either were in the water your fish came in or were attached to some equipment you have in there, and they have just grown slowly. only explanation I can think of!
hope this helps!!
