women/girls only: if you shave "down there" , will you get more infections?

If you shave your vagina hair, will you get more infections or not? Cause the hair isn't there to "protect" you. I am so confused and I just want to know, its always good to know about your body. I feel I'm being misinformed, I keep getting different answers from a bunch of people.

I'm going to take the majority here.

thank you very much!

also how old were you when you started using tampons? i feel I'm a little late with everything....

No. You don't actuallly shave *inside* so there is very little chance for bacteria or yeasts to get in more just because you shave. You just have to be extra-sure to wipe front to back though, because doing the reverse you might get fecal matter in more easily without hair and THAT would cause infections !

You might get more ingrown hair though.... LOL

I started using tampons at 15, about 6 months after I started having periods (when it was summer and I wanted to go swimming)

The hairs in your pubic area can catch bacteria that would more easily migrate toward your vagina if there were no hair there, so yes, it does protect you.

I started using tampons around 13 or 14.

I certainly have constantly favourite the Sensor Excel razor (for women human beings). The blade swivels purely a splash, and the cope with is greater undemanding to hold close. I additionally use a user-friendly ole' lathery bar of Dove cleansing soap (no longer shaving cream). attempt to trim it very short with a pair of scissors first. If it hurts in any respect or looks like it is dragging, pulling, or ripping in any respect, you're gonna have razor burn. make certain you rinse the razor properly between strokes and make certain you're constantly lathered up. For a beginner, i might propose shaving in an identical course that the hair is becoming - that helps to dodge razor burn. verify the razor blade is style new - boring blades are undesirable! it style of feels like the greater you do it, the greater your dermis gets used to it. And the greater your dermis gets used to it, the less you get razor burn. LOL! stable success!

Not necessarily, for some women keeping the hair there may give them more infections, because all the junk and bacteria is caught in the hair. You won't get infections as long as you keep yourself clean and wear clean underwear.
