Unless you want to take the chance of a power surge turn off your computer. I lost a computer to a surge during Hurricane Ike even though it was on a surge protector power strip. Many people do not (I didn't) know those strips will stop functioning after they have stopped several surges ones you never even know about. They should be replaced about once a year. As far as the lightening you should be fine inside do not stand at windows or patio doors to watch it. Find yourself something to do that will keep your mind busy.
