I have never spent the same amount on the kids, instead I go by making sure they have the same amount. My son is in 3rd this year, give him jeans and t-shirts and he is happy the oldest is a sophomore and of course she wants a few things the others could care less about and the other one is going into 5th and she is all about fashion, shoes, hair things etc. With all three of the kids having a different style there is now way I could set an amount for them. It is the same at christmas we do not buy gifts and spend the same amount of money we just make sure they have the same amount of gifts to open. Everything in their life is not going to be fair you can only try to make it as fair as possible for them. If they all get the same amount of outfits then they should be happy with that. Also chances are the two girls could share shirts to expand their wardrobe. My 10 yo old wears a 10-12 girls but a small in a juniors shirt fits her good so she can borrow her sisters shirts at times for a change. Just explain to the girls that they have different taste in clothes and that means the prices are going to vary and although one may cost more they still have the same amount

It depends how many clothes she already has.
This year, I had to spend 200.00 on school clothes because I've always been low on jeans, shirts, etc. and I started growing them all out/they started getting gross so I had to get a whole new wardrobe.
If she already has stuff that fits and still looks nice then she doesn't need as much.
I say a girl needs at least 5 pair of jeans total, 3 plain colored tank tops, 3 regular tees, and a couple other different kinds of shirts (cami's, cardigans, etc.) A girl should have at least 8 shirts, but if you expect her to be really popular you're going to need at least 15, usually more.
Oh, and a couple long sleeves.
Girls are harsh these days about clothes. It's kind of pathetic if you ask me, if you don't have 50 outfits you're not cool, immedietly poor, gross, etc.

Oh Lord mommy!
Well it's not about how much you buy, it's about what you buy and how versatile it is. You should get her about 14-18 really good shirts, but that are versatile. For example: a purple shirt with a dark wash jean and a nice boot or heel looks great. Pair that with a jean jacket, scarf, or hoodie and you've got a nice winter or fall look.
Definitely a dark wash jean, capris, black pants, and slacks, and a cute skirt. Be smart with what you buy and it'll go a LONG way and she'll still look fashionable.

Well, buy some at the first of the year (enough to get her started). Then buy some ever-so-often throughout the year. That is what I always got.

i usually got about 3-4 outfits for back to school and was always quite satisfied with that! I'm in college now, and find myself getting fewer 'back to school' outfits, because well, us college kids, we don't really have the dough to spend on clothes ;)

buy things that can be mixed and matched, for example tank tops with different cardigans. then buy a few regular blouses/tee shirts. you can save money this way because it's like having a ton of outfits with less items.
