how do you make a mardi gras umbrella?
I want to create a performer mardi gras cloth umbrella with beading and fringe that will not fall apart during vigorous dance routines. It needs to fold shut for storage.

It should be royal purple, forest green and gold and as gawdy as you can make it without sh*t flying off of it as you dance.
The key to Mardi Gras is excess.....go hog wild!

Needle and thread. Do it in sections between the metal umbrella things. Or you could go the spray glue and glitter route but that's kind of amateur.
