What position would you build a franchise around?

I would build my franchise around a small foward. A person who can shoot, stretch the court, be a leader. A versatile player who can post up occasionally and really lead a team. More of a point foward actually, much like a Lebron James. However I wouldnt mind building around a dominant center either.

I would build a team around a SG.

The shooting guard is the premier scorer, and most teams that win multiple championships are built around the shooting guard. Like M.J. and the Bulls and Kobe and the Lakers.

I would want my shooting guard to penetrate and pass, and score, just be really smart and know what to do. Not be the greatest 3 point shooter cuz then they'd take low percentage shots, but hit 3's when needed. And also take very high percentage shots, not like that scrub Larry Hughes. I would also want him to honestly be a ball hog most of the time. Tell the other players to "F*** off" when he needs to take the game over.

The shooting guard can win championships, as long as you surround them with a good center (shaq, pau gasol) a 3 point shooter (posey, John paxon, steve kurr,) and a point guard to pass to him (derek fisher)

and everyone who can play defense, you have a championship team.

You might think I'm crazy for thinking that a sg wins championships, but in the last 19 years, since 1990, kobe and micheal won a combined 10 championships, with the team built around them. if you add dwayne wade who is a great shooting guard, thats 11 of 19 championships won by a star sg.

If I would build around a player, that would be Kobe Bryant. But as for the position, I would like to have a dominant center or a dominating floor general.

Kobe is irreplaceable. But if its position there are many players who can fill the sg spot and do well than having a dominant center or great floor general which is harder to have.

haha you just took the words out of my mouth i would try to go for the small forward or shoothing guard because like most of the players that i liked most were shooting guards that mostly played small foward as well but it would always be nice to have a good if not great pg or c but i wouldn't really build it around a c because they aren't like the position that could lead and control the tempo of the game and stuff

I think you should start with a dominant center like Dwight Howard, and then a sharp shooting wing player. That would help your team because of the inside outside threat.

Dominant center who can post up, shoot from mid range, and pass, and at the same time be a monster on the defensive end.
