actually big boned is not real i learned that in weight class. no ones bones it bigger in thickness that make someone look fat. sorry it is just an excuse over weight people use.

your weight is determined by what body structure you have small frame large frame, medium frame. you can tell your frmae by taking your hand and putting it around you wrist. how much it is over lapping, or under lapping is you body frame.

like i have a small body frame i can take my hand wrap it around my wrist. have huge space between my wrist and fingers to go further down my arm. if you can just barely do it it is extremely tight you have a big frame. if you can get it to over lap comfortable but not totally tight than you have a medium frame.

now if you want to measure your ibm here is the sight.

    http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/bmi.htm

it calculate if you are over weight.

BMI stands for Body Mass Index.

What the BMI weight loss calculator does is that it shows the relationship between a person’s height and weight.

BMI weight loss calculator, measure your height and weight. Then use the following equation: weight / (height in feet x height in feet).

You can use this equation to measure your BMI yourself or use an online BMI weight loss calculator to do your work for you.

The BMI weight loss calculator is most reliable for people aging between 19 and 70, except those who are pregnant, women who breastfeed, body builders, competitive athletes, and those who are chronically ill.

Since the BMI weight loss calculator does not take into account your bodily composition, if you are undergoing a weight loss program that involves gaining or losing muscle, then the BMI might not be the best way to track your progress. A better way to track down your progress would be to see how your clothes fit.

first of all you have a pretty good weight for your height. my mom is 5 9' and weighs 145 pounds, although she has an extremely small frame, being bnig boned means you have a big frame, which does not mean your fat, people are born with it and you cant change what your born with. But dont get all sad because its not a bad thing at all. if it bothers you you should just work out a lot to get really toned and then it really would be hard to distinguish you from a small frame because of all your muscle.

First, dont listen to that acai thing, scam.

Second, as the first one said, it depends on your age, height and gender. Also on your family sometimes.

Remember there is no set "perfect" weight, but there is an ideal, not for aesthetic purposes but rather health.

Here is a little but useful calculator to help have a better idea of what your weight should be:

    http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm

Just fill your weight, height, gender and age boxes and see below to compare and recommendations.

Just try to be healthy, not skinny or whatever people might try to tell you looks good. Take care of yourself and eat healthy, do sports and things that make you feel good but don't go into extremes.

Just remember that skinny people would like to have a little more fat, just like fat people would like to lose some, same for tall and short people, nobody is perfect and that is how the world is.

i know exactly what you mean, i'm big boned too. It does not mean your fat at all. If you have a lot of muscle that could be why you weigh a little more then your friends. muscle weighs more than fat, remember that.

not at all. you're actually at a normal weight. there's a big difference between being big boned and small boned. a good thing is that you're less likely to get bone and limb problems when u get older. however if u want to get skinnier i suggest u pick the places u want to lose weight and do an exercise that focuses on that place.

i had a similiar problem to u but there's nothing i ccan do about it. all i can do is lose as much as i can and soon accept the fact that i can't be extremely skinny but i'm fine with myself.

if u want some suggestions: to lose weight off the lower body buy joey atlas leg, butt, hip and thigh workout and for the upper body charlie brooks workout.

i can certainly tell u they work pretty quickly and effectively.

big boned does not make you fat.

but, with the information you've given us, it would have to depend on what age you are, and which gender you are.

Also, if you have a lot of muscle, it will make you heavier. Muscle weighs more than fat does.

muscle weighs more than fat, and if you are big boned, there is a good chance that you will never be able to become a truely skinny person. you are probably just a naturally broad person, like i am.

it also depends on your age

  • 1 decade ago

No it does not. It will make you weight more because the bones weigh heavier than small bones - it is not fat.

  • bones are bones nothing to do with fat...are your hands bigger than your friends ....longer fingers? yes then your bigger boned than them... big bonned or you can be fat or thin.. bones> muscles> then fat ontop.. big muscles make you look bigger and more fat ontop too!!

You can get your body fat % measured... thats the best way to know if you have too much fat!!

Your skeleton is just naturally larger than those other peoples. Also muscle weighs more than fat.
