What would cause the remote control of my car not to open the trunk?
I own a 2001 Toyota Celica, with a brand new battery. Recently, the remote control is not opening the trunk, although it still does open the driver's side door. What could be the cause of this? Would it be the remote control itself, or something to do with the car?

It is quite possible that the solenoid unit is inoperative. Open the trunk manually and then try the remote. If it works, the locking mechanism may need to be ajusted or lubed. If not, replace the solenoid.

CHECK YOUR OWNERS MANUAL FOR THE FUSE LOCATION FOR THE TRUNK RELEASE,, OPEN THE TRUNK MANUALLY THEN WALK BACK TO IT AND HIT THE BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE,, YOU SHOULD HEAR A CLICK SOUND EACH TIME U HIT THE REMOTE,, THAT IS THE TRUNK RELEASE OPENING THE LATCH.. IF U DONT THEN NO POWER IS GETTING TO IT,, PROB A FUSE OR BAD RELEASE SOLINOID,, EITHER GET ONE FROM DEALER OT FROM JUNKYARD (JUNKYARD 5 BUCKS),, ALSO LOOK AT THE LATCH AND VISUALLY MAKE SURE THE WIRES GOING TO THE LATCH ARE STILL SECURED AND POSSIBLY HAVENT BEEN DAMAGED BY THE TRUNK CLOCING OR FROM THE SPARE TIRE BEING PUT IN THE TRUNK AND STRIKING WHERE THE WIRES CONTACT... ONLY OTHER THING THAT I CAN THINK OF IS EVEN THO THE DOOR WORKS THE BATTERIES IN THE KEYPAD MAY HAVE NOT BEEN CHANGED SINCE 01,,, ITS ALITTLE WATCH BATTERY,, TRY CHANGING THAT TOO,,,ART

Maybe that the latch on the trunk needs lubrication - a small amount of auto grease is the best, but something like WD 40 will also work
