Spiritually speaking, when was the last time you were really, truly grateful for something?

And how did you express that gratitude?

Much love to all who answer. <3

Update:

((((Rachel)))) I'm glad you're feeling better!

I have a very vague memory some thirthy three years ago of being spat out of a womb and after the tremendous psychological adjustment it took for me to be fresh into this world and life (and thankfully washed by a nurse on hand) I remember a feeling(honestly!) of gratitude, of being out of that safety and into this freedom and the happenstance of contingency.

Spiritually speaking, spending time on R&S has brought me much gratitude that pours out of me each day as I consider what I've seen here. It's made me more centered, and able to recognize just how much I owe to my God. And that makes me appreciate everything good in my life, no matter how small, and not focus on the negative stuff you can't escape.

Just now. Your question made me feel very grateful for thinking of all the times I've been thankful for something :-]. Hmm, how should I express my gratitude?

Today the battery in our car completely died without any warning whatsoever.

    I was quite grateful that

    a. I had some money to pay for a new one, seeing as most weeks I wouldn't have

    b. I was home and not out when it quit (don't have a cell phone)

    c. My father in law drove me to Wal Mart and let me use his discount

It could have been a nightmare if *any* of those had not worked out like they did.

Today.. I was tricked on going out on the Atlantic ocean in a small boat... I asked before I agreed, "Is it really scary"? I was told "No! Don't be silly!"

It was TERRIFYING. After the boat stopped flying up and down on enormous waves and I realized we probably weren't going to die, I felt grateful that I had survived. I expressed it by making my fiance buy me a beer and drinking it really quickly. And by hugging him.

Today my son was burning up with a fever .I had flashbacks of when my daughter was his age (6) and was in ICU for 3 days. They both are okay .

But it certainly reminded me how very, very, grateful I am that They are here and well.It reminded me that I am not in control of those things and should never take a day for granted.

I was really truly grateful for good friends the other day. I was in a funk and my friend just made me laugh and smile a lot, and it really made me appreciate the people around me.

I told my friend thank you so much for helping me through my funk. She gave me a hug.

((((Stevie)))) Thank you! I'm glad I'm feeling better too.

When I helped make supper tonight.

The gratitude was actually intense, almost a pain.

    I didn't say anything.

It is a tie between the day I met you and the day recently when my friend impaled himself accidently but managed to get out of it with only muscle tears.
