Pointy question for very knowledgeable service advisor?

It is about a C230K, 2002, I had it since 2004

#1

When I have the oil changed at a station, I reset the FSS

It starts at 15000 and counts down 100 for every 100 KM that I drive until zero

When I have the same service done at the dealer, they reset the FSS

It starts at 15000 counts down for a while, jumps to 16000…17000 then after about 1 month it establishes a routine where it counts down 100 for every 167 KM driven.

A bit more if mostly highway, a bit less if city driving

So far I have done 2 oil changes at the service station, and 4 at the dealer

The service station say’s they use the very same oil as the dealer and same oil filter

The dealer service adviser and service coordinator, does not know why or what I am talking about

Can someone explain me what parameter the car is measuring?

Why is it different?

Or what is different that the car knows and I don’t know?

I thrust that if the car can tell the difference in the oil it is not a hazard, it is something designed-in.

Can I reset the check engine light, it came on because I cleaned the MAF (need’s cleaning about once a year) maybe I played with something that has caused an alarm.

#3 on the transmission oil dipstick, what is the distance from the tip to the full hot mark?

    1) The oil pan sensor is supposed to look at the impurities within the oil as well as the way you drive (mainly city, highway, or a combination) and also time (if the vehicle remains parked for longer durations). When the FSS is reset, it starts at 15K km but depending on your driving style and distance, it will either increase or decrease from that 15,000 initial reset. Why it is only going down from the 15K when it's reset by an outside shop, I don't know.

    2) The MAF sensor does not require any cleaning. Actually, due to its very sensitive nature, I would not recommend trying to clean it at all. What I do suggest is making sure you have a clean air filter and while you have the air filter out, vacuum the debris out that collects at the bottom of the air filter housing. Keeping your intake air clean is the best way to keep the MAF sensor working properly.

You need to hook up the car to a diagnostic scanner to erase the codes.

    3) There is no transmission oil dipstick in the car. Are you referring to the MB tool for all 722.6 transmissions?

    on a C230 2009 4matic

occasionally the engine idles very rough, like if only 5 cyl , the check engine light comes ON

the next time I start the car, the engine runs fine and the light is not ON

    what is the meaning?

i like it demanding and glossy, yet you do no longer supply that determination. I definitely do no longer like it comfortable... and the sharp ones harm. Edit: Oh! you're talking boobs! Sorry, i replaced into thinking of a few thing else...
