Can x-ray images go through airport security x-ray safely?
I have to bring my dental x-rays with me on a trip. Will they be safe in my checked baggage? I'm assuming somebody screens those with an x-ray machine; I don't know whether that might damage them. If yes, and I put them in my carry-on, will they let me take them through the metal detector? I know they only allow you to hold your ticket and passport in your hand.
Thanks

Sure. After the film is developed, it is just a piece of flimsy plastic with shades of grey on it. No problems. Sending them through the x-ray machine will have no effect. You can safely leave them in your carry on bag. No need to hand carry them through the metal detector (which you can't do anyway - as you point out).

x rays are on no account counseled for healthful pregnant women. I had to pass to the ER whilst i became 8 weeks pregnant and the well being practitioner became very reluctant to do pointless x rays. in the event that they might desire to be completed then you definately might desire to verify you have a chest and abdomen shield on

Yes, they can go through x-ray security machines safely. X-ray images are unaffected by x-rays once they've been developed.

Yes its only the plates they use to take them that would be affected. Xrays are just like taking a photo through.

yes -ask for the films to be transferred to a disc for easier travel or have them sent via email to the new dentist/surgeon.
