Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 12?

I think the match should've stayed the way it was billed.

The match being an IronMan Match was the way to get people interested in watching the match. If the match was just a regular match it would've been good too, but it was the WWF's way of making something unique for Wrestlemania that year. It makes that match unique for Wrestlemania since there hasn't been another Ironman match besides that one in Wrestlemania history.

With the Ironman match being billed the way it was, the fans knew it was going to go for an hour. If it was just billed as a regular match there was no real way of assuring the fans that it would go an hour.

Another thing was during that time period WWF wasn't doing it's best financially...so that match being an Ironman match was a way of trying to gain some attention to get fans that much more interested in watching Wrestlemania.

Having them just compete for an hour obviously would've been a classic match as well considering the classic these two were capable of putting together...and it would've been a throwback to days when matches could easily go a half hour to an hour, but it was also a way to lure fans in by having it an Iron Man match.

One of the points of that specific Iron Man match was the get Shawn Michaels over. Because of it being an Iron Man match, Shawn Michaels had to win by getting more falls than Bret Hart. Because neither guy got a fall in the 60 minutes allotted, it caused a controversy and left fans questioning as Bret Hart was still champion without actually winning.

When Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels were told by the commissioner "there must be a winner", the second chance during the sudden death period gave way for Shawn Michaels to try again and gain a hard-earned pinfall. That alone brought a story between the two and got Shawn Michaels over as a creditable main-eventer more than any match he had before that.

That would be weird because the match would go on for so long without people knowing what was going on. Lol then the bell would have rang out of nowhere saying the time expired. Lol Then they would restart the match. Na, knowing the match would go on for an hour kept the fans in suspense.

I think the match was fine the way it was except for the finish. I think only Ric Flair was capable of letting a regular match go for an hour. taking 2 of the WWE's top stars at the time and put them in the ring for 1 hour makes for one helluva match. the fact that they never scored 1 pin throughout the whole hour only proved that they didn't go down easy

no the whole hour long match sold it and it was the greatest match in wwf/e history imo and the whole sudden death thing i remember watching it live my older bro and his friends screaming omg it going on for longer than an hour it was great

no it would have been better as the iron man match.
