Interview/Hiring process?
Last wed. I had an interview with a pretty big company and thought the interview went well sent a thank you email and everything. That friday I received an application and background check consent form in the mail for me to fill out and I put it in the mail saturday morning to go back to them. This was exactly one week ago and I have not heard back from the company (I also realize that one week is not really long in the hiring process). I was just wondering if it is usual for the company to send an application after the interview and if I should try to inquire about the status of the job anytime soon? Also is it ok to email the HR department to inquire or is it better to call?
Thanks lexa10881....do you know if its a good thing that they wanted me to fill out an application or is it just standard that companies do this with everybody they interview

Either form of communication will be alright, just stress your urgency as you are eager to work for this company, and you would like to conclude your job hunting activities and want to work.

I think what you are doing is the testing and IF you pass the testing the interview will be a week or so later. The testing is about two hours and the interview is another day and it was about 30 minutes. BUT BE WARN......Comcast is very slow in the hiring process don't be surprised if after the interview you don't hear back from them for at least 3 weeks to whether you got the job. They're HR department is VERY slow in processing applications

You might call and inquire politely if they got the paperwork that you mailed back? That kills two things at once--checking up and did your papers get where they need to go. Typically a check can take a week to ten days, so if you had to wait on the papers to get back there....yea, probably not done with your check just yet.
