You cant play GTA IV with 1 gb ram.I also faced this problem. The textures of gta iv are bigger.the total real time processing data will be more than 1 gb so that it can contain the whole textures. After I added another 1 gb of ram the problem got dis appeared.9400 GT is a good one.Upgrade the ram and I assures you that the problem will get solved.

  • Yeah u need to add more ram....

Does the buildings and other stuffs appear when they r closing near?

I think it's the problem of draw distance setting!

Just set it to maximum but it will have a huge impact over game performance cuz GTA 4 demands a huge hardware resources! Even the most powerful graphic cards can't handle this game much...some lags occur though!

It can be also a driver issue...don't forget to upgrade ur graphic card driver.

    Peace!

I have heard this asked by other people before, it seems that it is normal for it to be making that sound. One of my friends had this problem aswell and contacted Rockstar and they suggested that it might result from long gaming sessions and that maybe he should take a break every few hours. Other than that you should be fine, I remember when I played FFXI on mine i'd occasionally hear it too but nothing bad came from it.

Probably a memory leak issue. Make sure all your other aplications are closed and if that does not work, turn down the graphic details.
