My daughter is going to have a baby - 11 weeks on now - she has a discharge?

I am going to be a grammy (yeah) but I don't know the answer to this, my daughter has a light brown discharge when she tried to go to the bathroom. She had IBS before getting pregnant. Is this discharge normal? I appreciate any help you can give me that I can pass on to her. Thank you.

Update:

Bad Ash - women come here to talk with people with knowledge. So take your crappy attitude and go away!

Update 2:

I'd really like to thank the first 5 people for their answers. I think it is great when people take the time to share what they know. I love this site for that! Anyway, thank you - I hate to pick a best answer because I appreciate you all. Take good care.

brown discharge means old blood, so it could be a clot left over from her last period or implantation bleeding. As long as it is not red then everything should be fine. Just have her bring it up at her next appointment.

Congrats on being a grammy, I know how exciting it is through my mom.

I heard that brownish or pinkish discharge is nothing to be worried about. It is normall to have this during 1st time preggos. As long as it is not accompanied by cramping or red heavy blood. I think she should still mention this to her OBGYN just so she could be under observation.

First, she is very early in her pregnancy and this could or could not mean trouble. I would make a call to her doctor?

In the past sometimes, not saying this is it, but this could be a sign of the possibility of a miscarriage, or just from pressure.

There is a website for future reference called WebMD which can answer questions.

It is normal. As long as it does not become bright red coupled with cramping she will be ok. If it worries her so much, make sure she mentions it at her OB appointement!
