How much should this automotive repair cost?

I recently got in a little scrape with a friend of mine. To me it seemed like the damage was minimal but the body shop somehow found $1055.00 worth of things to fix.

My friend drives a chevy, and the part above his front-left tire got bent inward a little towards the headlight. The headlight it self also may have bent a little.

I know this is pretty vague but I'm not sure of any other way to describe it. The headlight and turn signal work fine, and the car runs fine, it is simply a small bend. In your opinion, how much should this cost?

It could easily be $1000. The fender will likely have to be replaced and, unless your into the rusted metal look, they'll be coating and painting it for you as well. Aftermarket hoods often go for ~$300-500 and add a few hundred more for a new coat of primer body putty and paint and you're closing in on $1000 easy, never-mind fixing possible frame damage.

Body repairs - even small ones - are NOT cheap..

What ever they say since you are only looking at cosmetic...if the wheel got bent in the the linkage underneath is all tore up and that stuff can get pretty pricey. Remember the biggest cost is labor....not parts...

sound about normal for body work... cas they have to fix teh dent/bent part and repair teh bent/broken stuf underneath and then repaint teh parts to match.....and pictures wud help alot.... and u can always shop around to different body shops....wud suggest getting 3-4 estimates...
