How does a pitcher earn a win for blowing a lead?

Gonzalez of Atlanta, blew the lead in the bottom of the 8th and left trailing by 1. Atlanta got the lead back in the 9th and Soriano closed the game out. How does Gonzalez get credit for the win?

He got credit for it because in the inning after he left, the Braves came back and got the lead. He was the pitcher on record.

He should not. The pitcher of record (presumably Soriano) when the Braves took the lead again would get the win. Any time the lead changes after a pitcher has left the game gives that pitcher a no-decision. Not always fair, but that's how it is.

Edit: The pitcher has not officially left the game until another player pitches or hits for him. If the Braves scored two runs before he was officially replaced, he left with the lead.

because the pitching change probably didn't officially occur until after the braves got the lead back. meaning that gonzalez gets the win and soriano the save

He was the pitcher of record when Atlanta regained the lead, so he gets the win.

Maybe he was still officailly still pitching when they came back since the following pitcher didn't throw a pitch.

because they are also pitching when their team gets the lead back
