    We imbraced the metric system when we ordered import vehicles.

    The answer is yes and no.

    Yes, because Congress passed a bill in 1975 called the "Metric Conversion Act", so the law is set for the metric system to be used in the US.

    However,

    No, because the American refused to embrace the metric system back then. You see, we're so stuck in our ways it is hard for us to change. For example, if I told you the weather today is nice and it's 23 degrees outside, you would be able to estimate that 23C is around 75F (estimate). But tell that to people who don't know anything about it, like older folks, or some highschool dropout in the midwest and they'll get up in arms calling you a socialist and anti-American...

    Yes, but not for at least another generation.

    When the U.S. is the only one on the imperial system, there will be some major pressure to move over. There will probably be a period of both.

    (I remember a while ago in Ireland, who were also "never" going to embrace the metric system, now drive kilometers instead of miles)

    As long as there is a simple way to do something and a much more complicated option America will choose the latter.

    i does no longer evaluate united statesa. as being previous. It in basic terms have been given off on the incorrect foot. the respond on your question is sure yet previous behavior die difficult. ultimately something of the international will rigidity our hand.
