I have a 1995 saturn SC1 and we changed the fuel filter. It starts for a second or two then dies?
It runs for a second ot two but quickly dies. New plugs and we see a valve on the line near the engine but do not know what this is.

If all you did was change the fuel filter and you are sure you put it in correctly, try cycling the key from off to on with out starting the motor several times with a 15 second delay in the on position before turning the key off. This will build up the fuel pressure in the fuel rail so that the injectors work and gas gets to the cylinders. Then try starting the motor.
Did you clamp the fuel line before removing the filter and leave the clamp on the line or cause it to collapse?
