32bit to 64bit OS Vista/Windows 7?
I am currently running Vista 32bit and would like to upgrade to 64bit for additional memory. My hardware is compatible but I would like to avoid reinstalling everything. Is this possible with Vista or could I upgrade to 64 bit with Windows 7? Would Vista require another key for 64bit?
Thanks for your help!

Anytime you move from a 32bit OS to a 64bit OS you need to perform a clean installation, which will wipe your hard drive. This holds true for moving from 32x Vista to 64x Vista and also 32x Vista to 64x Windows 7.

This computer came with 32 bit Vista. I upgraded it to 64 bit Vista. All I lost was the time it took to do it.

No. If you are currently running a 32 bit version of Windows you can only perform an upgrade to another 32 bit version of Windows.
