Obama critical of the GOP on healthcare. And he expects cooperation then?

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama said he is confident Congress will pass "a good health care bill," as months of rancor over reforming the nation's health care system seemed to be easing Sunday, with the White House playing down an immediate role for a government insurance option.

At the same time, Obama was critical of Republican opponents who he said were trying to block an overhaul of the nation's heath care system for political gain.

"I believe that we will have enough votes to pass not just any health care bill, but a good health care bill that helps the American people, reduces costs, actually over the long-term controls our deficit. I'm confident that we've got that," Obama said in an interview broadcast Sunday on CBS' "60 Minutes. "There are those in the Republican party who think the best thing to do is just to kill reform. That that will be good politics."

Obama evidently doesn't care if he loses many House and Senate seats for Democrats. He will be a one term President and he wants to be known for his Obama Care. Plain and simple he doesn't care what happens as long as he introduces the American public to socialism. The reason Republicans want to kill this reform is because it isn't reform, it's a government takeover of healthcare.

After so many Republicans from both the House and Senate going on FOX News shows saying that they would be voting against the same bills they attached 138 amendments to I think President Obama would be a fool to think they would bargain in good faith. Then again the terms Republican and backstabber have become pretty much interchangeable lately.

I think it is time to throw the "party of no" under the bus. Since the Republicans have numerous reasons that they can not afford to have ANY Health Care Reform passed now anything they say should be taken with a ton of salt.

Republican's are against the bill and there are a few seniors who have alot of clout and influence and they are simply "set in there ways" . He is trying to reach out to younger republican senators who may decide to defect from the rep party in order to gain more votes. Bottom line most Americans are ready for the healthcare bills. He doesn't care that a few bad apples want to spoil it for the rest. The only way to work with republicans is to tell them this is how it is and this is what you can do to help. Republicans make alot of money from insurance companies. There voters are mostly ignorant of basic facts and are usually from rural areas in America where there is'nt much diversity when it comes to cultural or political beliefs. It's no big secret that when McCain ran against Obama he propose a bill that would give people 5k tax deduction for medical expenses but could make health insurance policy holders pay income taxes on there health care benefits! But despite this if you ask any republican in america they will deny this completely despite the FACT it was all over McCain website and it was all over national tv and when Obama accused McCain of this increased income tax bill on health care McCain changed the subject and pointed out that it gives you a 5,000tax deduction but never denied that his bill would also require people like me and you pay taxes on there health care benefits! Republican candidates Are just tricksters who trick gullible people in the south. They campaign on the notion they are a southern Baptist God fearing gun carrying republican and since the southern heritage is all about those things people will vote republican because it is culturally acceptable even thou there political beliefs might be more liberal than conservative. A Good example is The governor of South Carolina. He voted to have Bill Clinton impeached for lieing about his adultery . Now that Mark Sanford the governor got caught do you think he's going to resign? The people love him because he's a Southern baptist "god fearing" gun carrying " "Son of a confederate" People in Gop country are suckers for self righteous preaching loud mouthed god talkers.

Obama doesn't really care what the people want.

His only concern is getting his hands on 6% of the economy... and our freedoms and choices and money...

He can and will PUSH THIS through with a special referendum.

America be DAMMED... (and it will be)

He didn't say all Republicans. He just criticized those Republicans who were just trying to kill reform at any cost.

You're lying, like these same Republicans.

Why do you have to lie to make your points?
