well, my cousin works at a music licensing company and basically to get ur music copyrighted, u have to go through a lot of process, it's often to expensive wherever u go. the best thing to do is to just send a demo. i would recomend record companies such as sony bmg, or warner bros., but it all depends on what type of music u r leaned towards to. i know for sure that sony bmg allows u to download a music demo form online. all u have to do is fill it out.

  • It's very rare a demo will get you into a big company like Universal, Atlantic, or Sony Records. Usually, those people are found through talent searches and auditions. As for record labels, you can find some at allrecordlabels.com

Just find your city, and they'll have a large list of different labels around you.

Demo songs won't necessarily have to be copyrighted. A humble record label will know better to take it right off the demo, because in doing so, they know for dead certain they are wrong and will therefore have no chance at all in a lawsuit.

    Hope I helped : )

What a funky thought. regrettably, to do it suited, you will ought to accomplish a little homework and acquire the essential license from ASCAP, BMI or SESAC, or another copyright clearinghouse. in case you're actually not doing it for income, they won't zing you for a brilliant license value. Doing it with no license could be a copyright infringement (distribution of unauthorized copies). they could sue you for as much as $one hundred fifty,000 for each song. that is not a criminal offense in case you don't make any income, and if that isn't any greater beneficial than $a million,000 for the licenses. The police could not care much less, a minimum of till you're violating some criminal regulation. they want in all threat reason to arrest you. The undesirable information is which you have the burden of proving any affirmative protection in federal courtroom, which incorporates "elementary use". greater suited to purely pass get the license, print the failings, which incorporates in demand connection with the license.
