I'm 17 and got a G35 coupe. the girls think the car is sexy, and it's one of the fastest cars at my school. I have a lightweight flywheel and clutch, 19" rims, and am getting my taillights smoked, a new exhaust, plenum spacer (look up motordyne plenum spacer 5/16") and Gialla Grill.

The car is faster than my friend's MazdaSpeed3 (but then again, I can drive a stick way better than he can)

I spent 16.5k on mine, but they're way cheaper if you get an automatic, since they're so much more common than the stick shift.

RSX-S is nice, but small and not as fast, VW's aren't great reliability wise and not as respected as the G. Friend has IS300, no where near as fast as my car. Other friend has '09 Altima Coupe 3.5, fast as mine in the 1/8 mile (he has CVT and launch control, so he doesn't shift, but at higher speeds, I will beat him).

top speed on the G35 is over 160 mph... just saying

17 and a fast car? Not a good idea.

With that budget go for the Veedub GLI.

Any repair for Lexus, Audi, Acura or Infiniti will cost you an arm and a leg.

Thank God for the curfew and tougher driving regs for teen drivers in my town!

For a first car?? my first car was a 1985 nissan maxima, love it now because of the way it drives (Still drives, btw all 200,000 miles and all) but it's not exactly the nicest car in the world. Want something fast? no need to spend all that money, get something old, I have a buddy that just bought a 79 camaro for 500 buck he put about 300 in it to get it running right and now it smokes most other things on the road.

I agree with Fireturd... No need to have a super nice car for a first car but if you got the money then with out a doubt get the infiniti G35.

a new car for $22,000? I'm 20 years old, have had about 8 cars, the purchase price of all of them put together would probably be less than half that. Trust me, don't even bother getting a nice car, you'll wreck it (i wrecked one) plus the repair bills on a new car will keep you from being able to afford payments.

All those cars can adequately drive the speed limit, so they're all as "fast" as they need to be.

"hook my car up"? Hook it up with what? A tow hook?

And we can't keep your insurance in mind, as we don't know where you live, your driving record, which provider you're going to use, etc and so forth. You know, all those details that would be helpful.

Otherwise, buy what you want. It's your money. Why would you need our input?
