I am not an expert on this subject, but I was watching the news yesterday and a guy was scammed for tickets. The recession is causing people to do whatever possible to get things for free, such as scamming and counterfeit money. This already sounds odd let alone having someone else to pick them up without disclosing a comforting reason as to why.
I would say hold off, even if you dont sell in time, losing money this way is better then being scammed.

It seems kind of odd because why does he request to do the transaction his way instead of yours?
First of all, if you do decide to go along with the transaction make sure you met in a public place for your safety of course!
Consider that if he writes a check the check could be a bounced check. If the check bounces you get no money, so don't be willing to exchange a product for a check. Worst of all is the scenario that he gets your tickets and sends you a phony/fake/stolen check.
If you are going to make the transaction I would recommend receiving either cash or some kind of other material/barter good instead of a check or money order.
Also consider why would he need your name, address, and phone number? Is it just to send the check or does he have something else in mind with your address.

its bull ****. i know from experience. i lost 2500 on craigslist and the person contacted me with an email like yours. if you email them back and say that you would like to talk to them on the phone i know for a fact that the person will give you a story saying how they are hard of hearing or that they dont currently have a phone just something like that. i wouldnt deal with them if i were you.

fake. be careful; craigslist often has stuff like that, especially if you're selling cars. also sometimes it's good to google the e-mail address, because sometimes people will post if they're fake. and notices they didnt mention the item. and sending someone?? all signs of fake one.

Don't do it. Giving your address away on Craig's list isn't the smartest idea. Tell them to fu(k off, or meet you in a public place. DO NOT give them your address.

I would not sell to him. It just doesn't sound right to me. If he is going to have someone come and inspect them anyway then they can bring cash. Even though you are meeting in a public place, please bring someone with you also.
