What martial art is right for me?

I'm 5' 7'', 140 pounds, but rather agile and well balanced.

What I'm looking for is something that focuses on strikes and ways to incapacitate someone to end a fight quickly, sort of the Jackie Chan beat the crap out of someone in a second deal.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I'm glad to see someone recommending Jeet Kune Do Concepts. It's hard to believe there are still people all these years later who honestly think classical martial arts are the fastest and surest road to self defense.

JKD may be harder to teach, but it's much easier to learn, and it's practical almost immediately. No forms, no required techniques, just use what works.

Just google the MA schools in ur area so u know whats available to u. Then visit the schools and talk with the instructors. Finding a good instructor to study under is more important than finding a particular style of MAs to study. Then decide for urself which is right for u. Ull want to watch out for McDojos.

    Good luck

Jeet Kune Do was created around the idea that martial arts should allow people to use what they have as efficiently as possible to end a fight quickly.

The whole point is to eliminate unnecessary moves, traditions, and postures and get right to winning the fight.

I would say JKD is right for you.

well i do Muay Thai and some of the fights i've seen on youtube and all, the fighters themselves are ruthless.

the fighting consists mainly of elbows, knees, kicks and punches.

Jackie Chan is in a whole different league but someone correct me if i'm wrong but i think he did TKD.

yeah so Muay Thai is just a really merciless sport

watch some of the videos on youtube
